Peter Waanders queried the credentials of Peter Them and the Parrot Data
EMail Club.
I have met Peter Them when he visited Australia a few years ago, and
briefly showed him around Perth. He has visited Australia again since
(this year or last year when he put out RFIs on birding-aus). You can
never be too careful especially about some of the rare parrots in the world
but I believe that Peter Them is genuine.

Hi netters,
These sort of messages always make me suspicious - you know, illegal trade
in parrots etc, their eggs, and so on. Big dollars are being made in Europe
and elsewhere collecting eggs of endangered raptors in remote places,
hatching them in incubators, then selling the birds. Similar practices
endanger already threatened parrots in eg. South America. Is Australia
next?
This request could be innocent and well intended, but you never know?
