We went out to Round Hill (west of Condoboblin in the Centre of NSW ) on
the long weekend. Between Parkes and Condo we saw at least 6 road
killed Brown Snakes plus another 2 west of Condo and one very much alive
1.5 metre speciman on the road. I come from out the way and I've never
seen this number of snakes.
Regarding Edwin's comment about drought in the west- the country in the
area's we travelled Wellington, Parkes, Condo, West Wyalong etc is in
the grip of one of the best seasons I've seen. The country is a picture
of green(wheat), yellow(Canola) and Purple (Paterson's Curse) and there
is water everywhere.
It is dry on the coast (particularly the Nth Coast) and in the Northern
inland but not in the Central West.
