Following on the first Common Koel of the season yesterday morning at the
Argyle Diamond Mine in the north east Kimberley, I heard the first Brush
Cuckoo this morning. This is my first record of Brush Cuckoo in October
over 12 years. They are clearly a wet season migrant at Argyle, but a few
can be found all year round in Kununurra near Lake Kununurra. Pallid
Cuckoos have been calling since June.
