Folks:
Just a brief reminder that Birds Queensland (formerly the Queensland
Ornithological Society) runs a telephone birdline service, Birdline
Queensland. These days I seem to get as many email notifications as I do
telephone notifications which I suppose is indicative of changing
communications patterns.
I note a few observer are sending Queensland sightings to birding-aus
without forwarding them to Birdline Queensland. Unless anyone of these
people particularly objects I'll purloin the sightings for birdline. While
the online occupancy is increasing there are still a lot of Queensland
birders who, for whatever reason, are not online but continue to enjoy
hearing about spring arrivals and other interesting species seen around the
ridges.
Many thanks to all those who have remembered your humble servant trying to
keep Birdline Queensland as topical as possible. The spate of recent email
notifications has been most encouraging. I would urge others to give some
thought to those birders not yet online and pass on your Queensland sightings.
The Society's website is undergoing a revamp and should progressively look
better. Point your browsers at:
