Walking in Centennial Park yesterday I was twice dive bombed and contact made, from a very protective noisy miner. Have they learned to do this from magpies? Lorna, I experienced this recently for the first time. One Yellow-throated Miner among a group bombs the inmates at the Copi Hollow Caravan Park just out of Menindee, 110km E of Broken Hill, NSW. I saw the bird do it many times during our three day stay. Goodness knows how it learned to do it.
