Hi there Tony and Jill, In 1978 we were camping in the Kalbarri NP in Western Aust and the ranger gave me a copy of the bird list for the park. I noticed that the list included the black winged form of this species. Kalbarri is not far from Dirk Hartog Island. Although given good instructions on where to find this species I was unsuccessful in locating it.
