Hi Netters,

Finally, the SA State Government seems to make sense. Yesterday, the Environment Minister, Iain Evans, announced he would not allow open-cut magnesite mining to occur in the Gammon Ranges National Park, just north of the Flinders Ranges.
The current mining leases, that  have not been activated, will remain valid at the park until early next year.
The company involved and the government will decide in February whether to roll over the lease or to allow it to expire.
Let's hope they do the latter and set an example for other companies.

Regards
