I mooted a while ago that the discounted price was to get the first 
run sold out because of the colour problems with the printing. Peter 
Menkhorst has suggested it could have been a deal done with the 
publishers. At least in Darwin, and perhaps elsewhere, Angus & 
Robertson have a VERY LARGE prominent display of products from  
the Morcombe guide publishers. There may well be some contractual 
agreement between the seller and the publisher, and I would expect it 
to be mutually profitable.
