Trevor Hampel & Tony Russell have commented on Rufous Songlarks this year. This seems to be an unusual year for them. I have recorded Rufous Songlark for the first time in the dry season at the Argyle Diamond Mine near Kununurra in the north east Kimberley of WA.

They are very common in the early wet season (December to February), but I don't have a lot of records outside this period. This year there have been a few calling in June, July and August.

Pallid Cuckoo is another species that I have recorded more frequently this year in the dry season. This again has been recorded more often in the wet season, although I do have some dry season records.
