Hello backyard observers,

Last Sunday (6/8/00) I reported that the previous week had been a record for the most number of bird species seen from/in/over my backyard at Woody Point SEQld.....33 all together.
Well........ the week 6/8/00 to 12/8/00 was even better!
 36 species recorded!

The list:
Little Pied Cormorant
Great Egret
Straw-necked Ibis
Australian White Ibis
Masked Lapwing
Spotted Turtle Dove
Rock Dove
Crested Pigeon
Galah
Little Corella
Rainbow Lorikeet
Scaly-breasted Lorikeet
Pale-headed Rosella
Striated Pardalote
Little Wattlebird
Little Friarbird
Noisy Friarbird
Blue-faced Honeyeater
Noisy Miner
Brown Honeyeater
Willie Wagtail
Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike
Olive-backed Oriole
Figbird
Grey Butcherbird
Pied Butcherbird
Magpie-lark
Australian Magpie
Spangled Drongo
Torresian Crow
House Sparrow
Welcome Swallow
Tree Martin
Silvereye
Common Starling
Common Myna

Once again a couple of species seen the previous week are not on the above list.
This now is the record for the most species seen in/over/from my backyard since March 1994.
Can it get any better?
I note that Andrew Stafford had Scarlet Honeyeater in his yard at Wavell Heights, Brisbane, (not that far from me as the SH flies) the other day; that's a rarity for me but here's hoping they are heading my way.
Andrew also recorded Olive-backed Oriole; they rarely come to my backyard but have been here for about a week now.

Check out those backyard birds.
