I can assure Rob Inglis that the Zitting Cisticola has not been recorded round Atherton by any local observers. This would be an extraordinary record. Nearest locations where I record this bird regularly are Giru south of Townsville and Nifold Plain in Lakefield NP northwest of Cooktown. Apart from the distinctive call, the best field characters to distinguish from Golden-headed include the whiter tail tip and different face pattern. The Zitting tends to inhabit more saline areas, but at Giru is also in freshwater habitat.
