1. Just heard a FAN-TAILED CUCKOO calling outside my classroom in Castle
Hill this morning. First time I've heard or seen one hear at Oakhill in
five and a half years!
2. There were two PACIFIC BAZAS at Beecroft on Sunday morning, where my
parents live. My Dad, after I'd left visiting, watched one of the pair
soar in circles above the treetops, then cruise on a thermal up and up
until it could barely be seen! I have never seen this behaviour from a
Crested Hawk, so was quite intrigued, and even a little jealous, that
Dad had seen it! Anyone esle watched these birds do that?
3. Also - One YELLOW-TAILED BLACK COCKATOO was flying over Rushcutter's
Bay early Sunday morning too.
Peace and feathers,
LGJ.
PS - I went on a Pelagic the weekend before last... great trip... 3 new
birds and Sperm Whales and wondrous being with banded albatross... but I
tell you... I've never seen so much of my own bile!!!! I was the
throwing up king!!!!! Seven hours of nausea!!!!
