Rohan,
Ringneck Pheasants used to be seen routinely in roadside paddocks along the Hume Highway a few miles north of Seymour about twenty years ago. We saw them driving from Albury to Melbourne and back two or three times a year when we lived in Albury
They had English Foxhunting in that area in those days, and I always assumed that the pheasants had been introduced for Shoots, and possibly bred up and released every season.
         Does anyone know?
                                         Cheers
                                                    Michael
