Dear Birders

Advice has just been received by phone from the Acting Director, South
Australian National Parks and Wildlife that the Silver Gull control
operation at Lake Eyre has ceased, having completed a reduction of gulls
only at the Stilt breeding island.

This is clearly an insufficient response to the Silver Gull problem at
Lake Eyre and all persons interested in the plight of the Banded Stilt
are urged to maintain lobbying the South Australian Govt. to resume and
expand the gull control project at Lake Eyre, at least until the Stilts
depart.

I will keep you informed of any updates through this site.

Please direct your concern and comments to the following.
