Watched a Kestrel hovering over 'urban grassland' (if you know what I mean), in our suburb yesterday. It flew over a flock of about 100 feeding Galahs which at once rose up en masse and spent the next ten minutes angrily mobbing the poor Kestrel. They swirled and turned around and around the raptor, preventing it from rising above them, and I saw it being buffetted a couple of times. Finally it escaped by flying between houses.
