Hi all,
I've been off the air for quite a while, mainly out of the country. This is
my first posting in ages.
This message is mainly directed at wader enthusuiasts, possibly Qld Wader
Study Group members, in country Queensland.
The Australasian Wader Studies Group is holding its wader conference in
Brisbane next month (July 1 & 2) in conjunction with SHOC. I'll be
attending, and urge other wader enthusiasts to consider attending. I went
to the two previous AWSG conferences, and gained a great deal from them. As
an amateur wader enthusiast, I gained immensely from the information
imparted at both conferences. Don't think you're excluded if you're not a
professional.
If there's anyone who might be holding back because of the cost of coming
to the city, then I can offer a bed for at least two (others on mattresses
on the floor) in our separate, self-contained flat, at no cost. (Just leave
it clean!) That's the plus. The negative is that we live on the Sunshine
Coast about one and a half hours' drive from Griffith University, where the
conference will be held. First in, best dressed. My phone number is 07 5494
0994.
Perhaps there might be other wader people in Brisbane who are willing to
offer a bed to country people who might want to attend the conference.
Cheers,
Jill
