Another one to add to Paul Taylor's list is the "Collared Sparrowhawk"
 
The female is hard (impossible ?) to identify from the male Brown Goshawk which is of a similiar size.
 
The Reader's Digest "Complete Book of Australian Birds" lists Chicken-hawk under "Other Names" for both species.
 
J.D.McDonald's  1987 "Illustrated Dictionary of Aust Birds" says....
"Popular name given to any known raider of chicken-runs, like the brown goshawk, collared sparrowhawk and the brown falcon."
