Not quite, but I have come close. As a child, when I lived at Kota
Kinabalu on the west coast of Sabah, right on the beach, most years we
would get Whale Sharks coming in close to shore during the dry season, and
visible (occasionally) from the garden. They were chasing shoals or blooms
of small creatures that we loosely called 'krill', although they must have
been different from the euphausids of the Southern Ocean. They would also
be accompanied by lots of terns (can't remember the species) getting in on
the feeding frenzy.
