Like I suggested to Jag privately but am now opening up for the benefit of all, he should get himself a pair of those one way sunglasses. Then he'll be able to see the birds without them knowing he's looking at them? Tsk, tsk, I can just hear all the scientific types saying "Yes, but maybe the reflective outer surface might still scare them away?" Try using them at night John, the birds won't see you in the dark.
