The flock of Apostle birds (some 15-20) in the camping ground at Lake Hattah
(NW Victoria) are equally aggresive. They give the local White Wing Choughs
what-for and will eat out of your hand or off the plate if you leave it on a
table.
By the way - they love Anzac biscuits.
Having mentioned Lake Hattah brings me to another topic. Anyone planning a
trip to Hattah Kulkine NP should note that the lakes were all quite dry the
week after Easter. Does anyone know if there are plans to let them fill up
this coming spring? I guess it depends somewhat on the snowfalls and
subsequent water flow in the upper reaches of the Murray River.
