I've just returned from a trip up the Newell Highway, out to Warren and thereabouts in NSW.   It was not a birding trip and very little was sighted from the car apart from the everpresent Magpie-larks, Magpies, Willie Wagtails, Choughs, Galahs, Eastern Rosellas and Crested Pigeons.  
 
For those of you concerned with the fate of Apostle birds, I have to tell you that they are alive and well in Central NSW.   We saw numerous bands of them wherever we went.
