Hi All

A good sighting of a large female Cassowary on the Paluma Dam Road about 6 kl in from the turnoff near Birthday Creek Falls was had today.   I must stress that this is my first encounter with Cassowary at Paluma in about 10 years of frequent visits.    Over the last six months I have seen four lots of Cassowary droppings this is four more than in the previous 10 years.   Hopefully this is a sign that Cassowaries are making a comeback in the Paluma Range.

Regards

To a man ornithologists are tall, slender, and bearded, so
that they can stand motionless for hours, imitating kindly
trees, as they watch for birds.
