Binoculars and GST

Is there somebody out there who knows about these things and can tell
me:
If I want to buy new binoculars, should I be rushing out now to beat the
GST or should I wait until after July 1?  I presume these things carry
Sales Tax, but how much?  And will it come off immediately the GST comes
in?
I can defend this as on-topic, since the outcome will help me to see
more and better birds.
