Actually, round Brisbane in July/August, I would say that the answer is generally no. Since that time of year is the cool/dry season, mossies are generally pretty thin on the ground. We've just had a cool sunny day on Lamington, and didn't see one mossie. You would be more likely to come across mossies round the mangroves in FNQ. However, they probably use Bt round Cairns to control the saltmarsh mossies. However the buzzie types who broadcast dengue breed around houses - but there should be less water lying round for them at that time of year. Simple answer, buy some Rid - to apply if you notice any biteys ... Regards, Laurie.
