Hi folks

David Andrew and myself will be heading for western
Queensland in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping some of
you will be able to help with some information on the
following:

* Road conditions, especially in the far south-west of
the state - will 2WD be adequate in dry conditions?

* Rufous-crowned Emu-wren - I've heard Opalton is one
spot for this bird in QLD; if anyone has more precise
info on that location or others it would help. I've
heard Spinifexbird and Striated Grasswren can be found
here too.

* Any semi-reliable locations for Inland Dotterel,
Flock Bronzewing, Redthroat and Painted Honeyeater;

* Kalkadoon Grasswren (hopefully I haven't offended
the Mt Isa folks too much by my support of the name!)

* On a non-birding note, does anyone know how and
where to find Bilbies, Kowaris and the like out that
way?

All assistance gratefully received and acknowledged.

Cheers

AS
