e-mail problem

I have noticed over the last couple of months that an increasing proportion
of my birding oz e-mail arrives as an empty e-mail shell. I get the header
and subject but nothing in the message box. Am I the only person having
this problem? I contacted the ITS support people at my institution, and
they made the following suggestion as to what the problem might be. But if
they are right, then this should be affecting you all.

>What I think is happening is that the mailing list you are on has a filter
>operating that won't allow HTML coded emails or emails with attachments
>(and this would include Virtual Cards, HTML Signature Files etc. etc.)
>therefore the header of the message will get through fine but the message
>itself gets blocked.
>
>It is more usual to have the entire message rejected but I have seen
>instances where the body/attachments are blocked but the header is fine.

Any views/suggestions?

Greetings from kiwiland
(but soon to be back in Canberra)
