In July 1999 Jax Bergersen of Kuranda EnviroCare made a note in their newsletter about her observation that insect populations seemed to be low and wondered if anyone else had noticed. Lloyd Nielsen sent her a list of insect-eating birds of the wet tropics but I do not know what happened after that. I contacted Ross Storey co-author of field guide to the insects of Australia. His address is Has Environmental Protection Agency done any work in this field?
