We have been unable to locate the dark-headed gull (identity unknown) again
since the initial sighting of it on Sunday morning. I suggest anyone
heading to the Gippsland Lakes over the next few weeks keep a close eye out
amongst flocks of gull as I for one would love to know what it was.

If we see it again we will post more information (hopefully with an
identification!)

Hi Craig,

Possibly of no relevance but some years ago I found a Laughing Gull at the far end of the footbridge near the shops at Lakes Entrance. ie on the opposite side of the lake. It was mixing with Silver Gulls. I photographed this bird and reported it to RAOURAC who accepted the record.

It may be worth checking this area.

Regards, Andy
