Folks: Now that I've had time to look at the Koel a little longer, and from closer (yes the bird is still around as of this morning Sunday 16 April 2000) my earlier call of a female was a little premature and hasty. The bird is an immature and at this stage of its life it could be either male or female. BUT whatever sex it remains a beautiful bird to observe from close quarters. It appears to have developed a fondness for banana! Julian To unsubscribe from this list, please send a message to Include ONLY "unsubscribe birding-aus" in the message body (without the quotes) |
