Hi everyone.

Just updating my message of last week, about the troubles of the Shortland
Wetlands Centre in Newcastle. Sorry to trouble those of you who don't know
of the place, or who have no interest.

Apparently at their AGM last Thursday night the SWC decided to continue
operating for another two months, then to review the situation again.

Thanks to those of you who wrote letters to local and NSW politicians
requesting financial support to SWC. It's still not too late to act, if
you haven't already.

For birdos, the SWC is a great place to spend some time birdwatching. For
people in the Hunter Valley generally, the SWC is about as close to nature
as they ever get. It would be a great pity if it is lost to us.

Alan Stuart
