Dear all, I heard a news report this morning that a major cull of Cockatoos/Corellas/Galahs will be occurring in Western Victoria in the near future. The report stated that netting and gasing of the animals will occur, which at least has got to be an improvement on poisoning. Does anyone have any more details of this cull, who will conduct it, when it will happen, how long it will continue for and what the objectives are? How will it be determined if it is successful? Also does this mean that Victoria is moving away from controlling numbers of these birds by the use of poison?
