First definite Bayside record this year today: chortling away in boobialla and a she-oak, showing off its gorgeous salmon-pink front. Over the last 7 years they have had I suspect the smallest range of arrival dates of any of our cooler weather visitors: earliest return 26/3, latest 5/4. Will 2000 be like 1994 when I saw 13 honeyeater species here? We'll see. Michael Norris Bayside, SE Melbourne, Vic.
