Re: Black Stilt

My mother and stepfather have just returned from a trip to
New Zealand with some photographs of a Black Stilt seen on
the shores of Lake Alexandrina near Lake Tekapo, NZ. I've
scanned these pictures - so if anyone would like to see an
electronic copy please contact me.

Please note that the Department of Conservation in Twizel
asks that anyone who has seen a Black Stilt contact
them. For more information about this bird see:

* As a side note my mother is only a casual birdwatchers
and although she knew that the Black Stilt was rare she
certainly did not realise that she had just photographed
the "world rarest wader". Indeed she only took the photo's
so I could have a look at them.

All the best,

Tim
