My husband and I may be going to England in October for a friend's wedding at Cheltenham. Money will be pretty tight if we do go.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a.) cheap accomodation (we know about youth hostels etc.) and b.) places worth going birding at that time of the year?

PS We would both love to see a puffin - would that be possible? My knowledge of British birds is virtually non-existent.
