Anyone travelling near Portland in SW Victoria should keep an eye out
for Ring-necked Parakeet, as one has been reported from there (ABC
Radio yesterday, 22 March, Alan Reid's segment). You might like to
add it to your list of exotic escapes, or just do the right thing
with your pop-gun... Seriously, if there are two or more birds this
info should be passed onto DNRE. Or maybe a duck hunter will get it
by mistake - after all, it's got feathers and wings. (Yes, amazingly
we are having a duck hunting season in Victoria, despite our 3-year
drought).
