Hi all,
Spent yesterday morning at Scheyville NP (33° 35.2´
150° 53.75´) and McGraths Hill STW (33°
36.95´ 150° 49.55´). These areas are
both in outer north-western Sydney Although only a small area was
covered we still managed 80 species in about three hours.
Along the edge of Scheyville NP runs the Pitt Town Dural Road
and at the moment there is excellent birding along this road. A very
short walk of about 500m provided, amongst others, the
following:
Peaceful Dove
Shining Bronze-Cuckoo
Rainbow Bee-eater
Speckled Warbler
Weebill
White-throated Gerygone
Fuscous Honeyeater
Jacky Winter
Varied Sitella
Crested Shrike-tit
Black-faced Monarch
Rufous Fantail
Olive-backed Oriole
Dusky Woodswallow
McGraths Hill was not at its best but there are about 15
Australasian Shovellers, Little, Great and Intermediate Egrets, both
spoonbill species and a lone Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo.
Regards, Andy
