Martin may not have considered NW Qld when asking about the other Eastern
states.
The bird was not listed at all for this area as late as 1976 but
the Apostle birds are now spread along the Leichhardt River Nth of the
Isa.
They are always present at the Lake Moondarra Caravan Park.
There were perhaps 200 in one cattle station's homestead garden late last
year.

I even saw a group travelling across an arid spinifex/rock covered area
about 30km E of the Isa 1-1/2 years ago.

It is interesting that another "happy family"-- The Grey-crowned Babbler"
(vulnerable in Vic ?) will always be seen/heard
in my area. They would head the "always present" birdlist in this area
