How's this???????? Last night for about an hour and a half, I had two immature Powerful Owls about my place at Beecroft, Sydney. Had sensational views! Birds were continuosly making that raspy churring call with the upward inflection. Had them sitting side by side, bobbing their heads around... preening... flying... watching fruit bats... at one stage they were about fifteen feet off the ground, perched. Then this morning Channel-billed Cuckoos were calling... and on my way to the car... a Pacific Baza flew from tree to tree whilst hunting... and the Noisy Miners were whinging in reaction... All in the space of ten hours, all about the house. Cheers, Lorne.
