G'day All,
Just saw this message on the OrientalBirding Mailing-List, it certainly
whets your appetite....maybe when the violence has calmed down a little
over there.
This must be one of the best trip-reports that I've seen.
Enjoy,

During September 1999 I was lucky enough to go on a Birdquest tour to
Sulawesi and Halmahera in Indonesia, led by Pete Morris and Dave Farrow.
The highlights of this very successful trip included:
- displaying Wallace's Standardwing
- great views of Red-bellied and Ivory-breasted Pittas
- Satanic Nightjar in daylight, a presumed male photographed pehaps for
the first time ever
- Moluccan Scrubfowl, a very unexpected spotlighting bonus
- Aleutian Terns, presumed first record for Wallacea, and snorkelling
on the coral reefs of Bunaken Island
- the undescribed 'Sulawesi' Flycatcher
- the dazzling array of kingfishers, rollers, bee-eaters and hornbills,
among many others.
I have placed a trip report on the web at
http://alanwilkinson.com/birding/sulawesi
The report is adapted from the tour report produced by Pete for
Birdquest tour participants and includes some of Pete's photos and
sound recordings of the star birds.
Hope you like it!
