Hi Philip and all Birders, Philip you wrote: ": Rainbow Lorikeets are really quite cantankerous beasts (as are many parrots) : and will attack all sorts of things. This is not unusual. Pigeons are often : only aggressive to other pigeons (Columba livia rather less so than most)." Interestingly, I recently observed a Crested Pigeon having a stoush with a Noisy Miner on the ground. The pigeon was feeding on whatever when the miner attacked once and staid on the ground. It must have got one hell of a shock when the pigeon retaliated, not once but twice before the miner took off defeated. This only lasted for perhaps twenty seconds tops, but it was jolly good entertainment!
