G'Day Y'all from Charleston SC,

I can't help but notice the number of comments about the Millennium and when it starts.

The Media Millennium starts in a few days from now.  You've probably read about that.

The true Millennium starts, according to the Keepers of the Clock, immediately following the 'last stroke of midnight' on December 31, 2000 - which is the first second of the first minute of January, 2001.  The following is from the Greenwich official website at http://greenwich2000.com/

"...Greenwich England is where East meets West at the Greenwich Meridian (0° Longitude); World Time is set Greenwich Mean Time and where the World millennium celebrations will take place.   The Millennium Dome will be officially opened by HM Queen Elizabeth II on 31 December 1999.  The Millennium Experience will be staged in the Millennium Dome from 2 January 2000 until 31 December 2000.  But remember that the millennium doesn't officially begin until 2001"

So, y'all have got another 12 months to get those extra few ticks before this Millennium is done.

Happy Festive Season, and may the last year of the Millennium treat you most kindly.

Colin Clarke
