Hi all,
Until the day of today I have been putting my birdlists, interesting
sightings, etc. in a dBASE IV database that I developed myself back in 1992. I
have never gotten around to changing over to a newer, windows type system but
with the holiday break coming up I thought it would be a good idea to spend some
time importing my old records into a newer system, which should allow for easy
comparison of areas/states/countries, years, etc. It needs to be able to tally
up quickly anything included in the database and ideally this system should also
have plenty space for comments, lats/longs, and perhaps even graphics.
I have been looking around on the net a little bit but there are so many
systems out there. My simple question is which one is best & recommended for
use by modern day birdwatchers, not only today but also for a few years to come
- I don't want to have to change again in a few years time.
Any information would be highly appreciated.
Cheers
Peter Waanders
