Hi All,

I watched with much disdain and utter disgust, 60 Minutes on Sunday night concerning
rapid and extensive land clearance in QLD. It becomes abundantly obvious to me that getting through to farmers and bureaucrats is to some extent non-existant. You would have thought with the general concensus to maintain and preserve virgin woodland becoming almost fad-like, that common sense would prevail. How simple would it be to withdraw from pig-headed attitudes and at the very least compromise by leaving adequate and appropriate remnants, woodlots and/or habitat corridors to ease the unending burden on our native flora, fauna and birdlife. One day the cost may become irreversible?. What a price!. Are there any thoughts on this?.

Cheers,

Mark Kliene.
