I believe a New York City 'birdrace', many years ago, was severely upset
by the discovery of a stuffed Australian Chestnut Teal cunningly
inserted on a mudbank or beach (not too close to observers of course) on
a reservoir by some malevolent person! Ideas on ID were many and various
and heatedly defended until perpetrator confessed.
