A good question Pat!! Where the Peregrines nest is prime Hooded Plover habitat but within at least 2 to 3 kilometres either side of the Peregrine nesting sight there isn't a Hooded Plover to be seen.!! They're not silly! At the base of the nesting ledge I have found mainly Silver Gull remains with the exception of one Magpie carcass last year. One fascinating observation last year was of a Peregrine flying past almost at eye level carrying in it's talons a small yellow bird that I could only presume was a Yellow Robin.
