I was THRILLED to see the brand new edition (6th) of SIMPSON & DAY in bookshops. The latest volume has... 1. 42 birds in the vagrant section, including Blue Rock-thrush... 2. Many brand new plates... Sooty and Powerful Owls etc., black cockatoos, pardalotes, logrunners, wattlebirds et.al. 3. new distribution maps, with green ink and detail 4. many more b+w drawings 5. brand new green jacket featuring gerygones I think 6. updated, additional text 7. contributions from second illustrator It is the most superior field guide on the market now. 'Stunning' is the word for it. $35. Have a look. Peace to all, Lorne.
