Hi Netters, On the NSWFOC outing led by Pierre Charbonneau on Saturday 6th at Wiseman's Ferry, 40km north-west of Sydney, this is part of the total list recorded. Pallid, Fan-tailed, Brush, Horsfield's Bronze, Shining Bronze, Channel-billed Cuckoo and Common Koel. The first time I have recorded seven cuckoos in a day. Also seen, Cicadabirds and when we thought it couldn't get any better, on the way home, Pierre spotted a Painted Button-quail sitting on the white line on the edge of the road. We stopped and turned around and watched as the quail sat tight despite all the cars passing at 90kmh as close as one foot. When it was quiet, it slowly stood up and walked off into the long grass.
