A quick note to say thanks to all the birding-aus subscribers who provided me with such useful information for my recent month in Australia, and in particular to Niven Mcrie, Chris Gladwin and Tony Palliser who answered my questions on the phone. A visit to the Top End, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Tassie, ACT and a bit of eastern NSW netted about 360 species and 90 life birds bringing my Aus list to somewhere in the region of 510 (it will be several weeks before I can get my notes written up and get accurate figures). It was a wonderful and varied trip, I can if it interests subscribers to birding-aus provide a summary when time permits.
