Dear all

I replied to Bob and Sandhana on this directly this morning, but as others
have elaborated on recent raptors in Hawthorn there may be more general
interest.
Last weekend (Saturday 1100 ish) there was a Brown Goshawk high over the
Glenferrie Rd/Burwood Road intersection and south, for a good 1/2 hour. I
have seen it before in the same area - but not for about 6 months (assuming
it was the same bird). All these raptors over Hawthorn - it must be A Sign:
carna mighty Hawks!!

Do any locals know what happened to the Kestrels that used to breed on the
Town Hall tower? Four or maybe five years ago they put on a great aerial
mating display
more or less right above it.
