AUSTRALIA - on behalf of our team of european parrot birders,
I would like to thank you very much for giving us the great
opportunity to visit you - the " Land of Parrots " - on our trip
Parrot Watching Australia, 03 - 26. September, 1999.
And we had a safe and enjoyable trip back home to Denmark.
The mission of this tailor made bird trip was to explore the unique
birdlife of Australia, discovering what the birds - particular the
Parrots - do and why they do it.
On our way, we explored problems, tendecies and phonomena
with significance for the parrots and the other birds in Australia.
We experienced the parrot fantastic and diversified world - and
explored the rich and fascinating subject: Watching how the
parrots behave ... !
And in that way gain an insight into the wild parrots everyday life
as well as their habitats - and the parrots physical, social and
cognitive environment.
Such as the parrots selection of food and feeding behavior, display
and selection of activites, communication and social arrangements,
mating and caring for nests, eggs and youngs, dangers and surviving
harsh condition.
We want so say how much we enjoyed visit AUSTRALIA, and we felt
very good about the visit, and we enjoyed very much the AUSTRALIA
we had the chance to meet - a unique opportunity for us to experience.
Even Australia is a real big country and has an astounding number of
choices, and even though we only could stay too few days, we were
very fortune to have seen a lot of and felt the special atmosphere of
Australia ... - yes, we had great taste of Australia !
Indeed we were very fortunate to have seen more, that we could have
expected to see, and that was particularly satisfying for us.
By the time came to the end of our Australia odyssey we realized that,
we had a very exciting and fruitful trip to this fantastic area of the
world, and we had explored and learn a lot about the extraordinary
incredible range of habitats and see remarkable variety and good
selection Australian parrots and other birds.
Yes, this visit provided us with a lot of good informations, not only on
parrots and other birds, but also on the life in Australia, as the people
and culture, history and geografi, nature and wildlife, flora and fauna.
And now we must put it all in good use ... !
Australia is surely one of the world's top birding destinations, with a
great diversity of habitats and a high level of endemisn of flora and fauna,
and not to forget the easy-going people, great accommodations, excellent
food and wine and beer, and easy birding conditions make for a great
and wonderful experience.
